Abira is one of the most talented, new generation exponents of Benaras- gharana Hindustani Semi- Classical music like Thumri, Dadra, kajri, Bhajan and other devotional songs. She started learning Hindustani Classical vocal from Smt. Chandana Chakraborty, alongside with light music from Smt. namita Narayan. She continued her tutelage under the guidance of late Pt. Shreekant Bakre, as second generation disciple pf legendary Ustad Amir Khan of Indore Gharana. Later, she also got trained in clasical vocal by Shri Sandip Ghosh, Smt. Aditi Bhattacharya and in key instruments by Shri Rajat Nandi. Abira also excelled in Nazrul Geeti with instructions from Shri Biman Mukhopadhyay. Presently, she is honing her classical vocal skills from Vidushi Subhra Guha of Agra Gharana. Abira is one of the last disciple of Purab-Ang semi classical virtuso, late Guru Vidushi Purnima Chaudhuri of Benaras Gharana. Having her strong foundation in classical music of different Gharanas, Abira has been captivating her audience with enthralling semi-classical renditions. She has imbibed the age-old artistry and intricacies of Benaras with a new-age dimension. Abira has widely performed in numerous concerts in India, USA and Canada including Subah-e-Benaras.  Winner of Tansen Music Competition, 2013  Performed in numerous concerts, including Pt. Ravi Kichlu Music Concert and Subah-a-Benaras. A distinction awardee in Sugam Sangeet; Made several appearances in Indian Television (Dooradarshan) ; Performed in numerous programs in India, USA and Canada; Got featured in U.S. TV channel (KY18)
