Ashim Chowdhury: In the domain of Indian classical music, Ashim Chowdhury has established himself as one of the most talented Sitar Players of his generation, representing the glorious traditions of Great Imdadkhani Gharana.He was initated into music by his father Shri Shibu Chowdhury, a renowned tabla player. At the tender age of five, Ashim took up the Sitar under the tutelage of an eminent Sitar Maestro, Late Ustad Benjamin Gomes. In the year 1985, Pandit Bimalendu Mukherjee, a doyen of the Imdadkhani Gharana, took Ashim under his wings, from whom Ashim took the lesson of disciplined development of raga based on the Gayaki or Khayal Ang, the essence of the Imdadkhani Gharana to bring out the music of soul from his instrument. Ashim has received numerous awards and honour including West Bengal State Music Academy Awards (1st place in 1989), the prestigious "SURMANI" title from Sur Shringer Samsad, Mumbai, "Maharishi Gandharva Ved " Award from Delhi, "Sangeet Alankar" (M.MUS) from Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya etc. Hs is an artiste of the Indian Council for Cultural Relation (ICCR) & an "A" grade Sitar Player of All India Radio and Dooradarshan. In the year 1995, his audio cassette got published from Calcutta. Ashim is a regular performer in numerous conferences and concerts across the country round the year. Debasish Dey: Gifted with an extremely melodious and sonorous voice, which supremely glides across three octaves with mellifluous ease. Devashish holds the audience in admiration. Born in a music loving family of Varanasi,Devashish recieved his initial training under the tutelage of Pandit Pashupati Nath Mishra, a stalwart of Benaras Gharana .Later he underwent intensive and rigorous training with the exponent vocalist Pt.Mukund V. Kalvint, who in turn assimilated enormous repertoire from Padmabhusan Pt. S. N. Ratanjanker of Agra Gharana and Pt.Rajabhaiya puchwale of Gwalior Gharana. Devashish has interwoven the silken threads of these three leading gharanas to evolve a fascinating and harmonious style of his own. Devashish Dey's rendering display is a blend of impeccable Ragdari and flight of emotional imagination. He has been featured in the prestigious music concerts viz S.R.A-ITC Sammelan in Kolkata, Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya,Habitat in Delhi,Haridas Sammelan NCPA in Mumbai, Hindustani Sangeet Kalakar Mandali in Bangalore, Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal,Kumar Gandharv Samaroh at Dewas and has performed nationwide in other cities also. He has performed in many cities of France, UK, Spain, Greece etc. He is an A grade classical vocalist in AIR and Doordarshan. Besides obtaining 'Sangeet Pravin' (M. Mus) from Sangeet Samiti he is B. Sc (Hons in Physics) from BHU. Devashish is equally good in thumri gayaki of Purab Ang (Banaras style) and has repertoire Tappa, Dadra, Kajiri, Chaiti, Jhoola etc. He is a brilliant performer, presenting his own compositions in a shape of a book named 'SWATAHSFURT SWARACHIT'
